জাতীয় প্রতীক একটি দেশের পরিচয়, ইতিহাস ও চেতনার বহিঃপ্রকাশ। বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় প্রতীকসমূহ—জাতীয় পতাকা, জাতীয় সংগীত ও জাতীয় প্রতীক (Emblem)—দেশের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রাম, ত্যাগ ও আত্মপরিচয়ের প্রতিফলন। এই প্রতীকগুলো কেবল আনুষ্ঠানিক চিহ্ন নয়, বরং বাঙালি জাতির আবেগ, ঐক্য ও দেশপ্রেমের প্রতীক।

বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় পতাকা একটি গাঢ় সবুজ আয়তক্ষেত্র, যার মাঝামাঝি সামান্য বাঁ দিকে একটি লাল বৃত্ত রয়েছে।

ইতিহাস

বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় পতাকার প্রথম ধারণা আসে ১৯৭১ সালের মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময়। ১৯৭১ সালের ২ মার্চ ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে প্রথমবারের মতো স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশের পতাকা উত্তোলন করা হয়। স্বাধীনতার পর ১৯৭২ সালে বর্তমান পতাকাটি সরকারিভাবে গৃহীত হয়।
